OKAY, SO WHAT DO I WEAR?

A good place to start is deciding if you want more formal photos or casual photos. Are you envisioning a flowy white dress with a suit or jeans and a tank? Once you have a general vision for your session it will be easier to plan your outfits!

Compliment each other but don’t perfectly match

For a more cohesive gallery it is generally best to pick outfits with the same vibe but aren’t exactly the same! Think colors that go well together or different shades of blue. The exception for this is littles - matching siblings is the CUTEST.

Neutrals and earth tones

You don't want your outfit to distract from you and your loved ones in photos! Oftentimes, a brighter color will reflect strange tones onto your skin. Neutral and earth toned outfits make your photos truly pop! If you'd like to add a pop of color, make sure it's only one article of clothing between the both of you.

Where what makes you feel most comfortable

If you’re anything like me then you want epic photos, and in your mind that means your fanciest clothes. But if you and your partner or family don’t dress up often, you may feel uncomfortable during your session. I always recommend wearing what makes you most comfortable. If you want to have more formal photos but also want to make sure you’re comfortable, start in your most formal / difficult to get into outfits and change halfway through your session into something more casual and comfortable.

Flowy = movement

If you are wearing a tight or short dress, that will limit what poses and prompts we can do. If you are most comfortable in something tight or short we can absolutely get great photos, but there won’t be as much movement involved. Your gallery will have more posed photos vs candids photos.

Accessorize and layer

If you opt for only one outfit during your session, you can use accessories and layers to change up your look! You can add on a hat, scarf, jacket, necklace, or another accessory to change your outfit with minimal work.
